The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde

This week we have started to have a look at play-scripts.
We have had a read of 'The Happy Prince' by Oscar Wilde and looked at the different characters.

๐“ ๐“น๐“ต๐“ช๐”‚๐“ผ๐“ฌ๐“ป๐“ฒ๐“น๐“ฝ ๐“ท๐“ฎ๐“ฎ๐“ญ๐“ผ:

  • A cast list/characters
  • Adverbs and verbs
  • New speaker on a new line
  • A title
  • A beginning, middle and end
  • The scene to be set, usually by the narrator
  • To be written in present tense
  • Stage directions

Today we started writing a section of the story as a play.





Each group worked really well together and shared their ideas on how to write the section of the story as a play.
First of all, they had to make a key and highlight, in the story, who was speaking. 

Next week they will start writing their own plays to perform to the class!
