This term the year 5s and 6s worked together to send a parcel to another school in New Zealand. This was part of 'Get NZ Writing'.
Each person needed to write a metaphor to describe themselves.
Everyone wrote excellent metaphors describing themselves.

Crystal Exploration
In Science, we have been learning about evaporation and condensation. As part of this topic, we made crystals.
We used salt and hot water.
The experiment started a few weeks ago, and we have been tracking the crystals growth in Science. It is very exciting seeing how much they have grown. Some of them have grown a lot and others not so much.
We have decided it depends on how much salt we put in the cups.

Camp at Shakespear Park
This blog update is a little late but better late than never!
Camp this term was spectacular. Miss H went on camp for the first time (as a teacher), and some of the year 5s had never been on camp before.
Here are a few highlights:
1) Air Rifle shooting
2) Rock climbing
3) Mountain Boarding
4) Kayaking, safe boating and coastering
5) Bush cooking
6) Orienteering
7) And our give back!
There were so many fun activities, and the leaders did an amazing job with showing us what to do.
Every night was wrapped up with a delicious cup of hot chocolate. Thank you to Ethan's dad and Ananda's dad for helping make the hot chocolate every night.
